Princeton Golf Course 2017—Building on the New Beginning

Welcome to Princeton Golf Course
Princeton Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 71 course nestled along the beautiful Rum River on the border of Mille Lacs and Sherburne Counties. The course is only 45 minutes northwest of Minneapolis, just off Highway 169 in Princeton. The original nine holes were completed in 1955. The course expanded to 18 holes in 1992.

In March, 2016, Princeton Golf Course was acquired by new owners James and Amanda Berglund. James and Amanda are both Princeton natives and graduates of Princeton High School. Their love for Princeton and Princeton Golf Course fuels their determination to restore the course to its former level of excellence in both the condition of the golf course and the quality of the food available at the PGC Bar & Grill.

Refurbishment of the course began immediately. The grounds crew set about the task of restoring the fairways, roughs, and bunkers. They trimmed trees and cut back overgrown areas around water hazards. They also put a strong effort into beautifying the area around the clubhouse and the teeing grounds. Their work continues on the greens with the long goal of making them, again, “the best greens in central Minnesota.”

To create a quality restaurant, the Berglunds brought in a professional staff and created a full menu of sumptuous meals, appetizers, and desserts. Their goal is to make the Bar & Grill a dining destination not just for Princeton and surrounds, but for travelers heading north along Highway 169 to Lake Mille Lacs and beyond.

The pro shop is back in operation, stocked with a growing selection of golf merchandise and accessories. Golfers will find not only a re-vitalized pro shop and course, but new golf carts to carry them around the course. Future plans include construction of a permanent refreshment facility at “The Junction” to serve players as they arrive at holes number 6, 13, and 16.

The Berglunds and the entire staff are dedicated to making Princeton Golf Course into a truly beautiful and enjoyable golf experience. We invite you to join us as we engage in the happy task of restoring excellence to Princeton Golf Course.
